ADVANCED PADDLING
Along with beginner lessons in both canoes and kayaks, the Sundre Paddling Club offers more advanced kayaking activities. Traditionally used for hunting and transportation for thousands of years, kayaking resurfaced as a sport in the late 1960's. Most participants at the time made their own boats which gave rise to most manufacturers around today. Since its resurgence, the activity has split into several distinct disciplines that demonstrate all that kayaks are capable of. Whitewater kayaking first touched down in Alberta on the Red Deer River and has given rise to several high level competitors. Click below to learn more about what the SPC has to offer!
