SUNDRE PADDLING CLUB

PLACES WE PADDLE

FINDING FUN IN ALL WATER HAS TO OFFER

The Sundre Paddling Club hosts lessons and events on all types of water ensuring members and guests are properly prepared for the challenges water may bring. A major goal of the club is to get people feeling comfortable on the water to create the most enjoyable experience possible!

Flatwater courses take place in the Sundre construction ponds and other lakes throughout the Mountainview area. These small, shallow ponds allow students to learn new skills in a protected area with nice warm water minimizing risks while everyone’s still learning.

When paddlers feel ready to take the next step we make our way to the Red Deer or Little Red Deer River which offer a range of water classes allowing for an easy introduction to moving water as well as more challenging areas for those ready to expand their new-found skills! The SPC also takes group trips to other Alberta Rivers.

RIVER PADDLING

Just because the outside water freezes over doesn't mean we stop paddling. The SPC makes it through the winter months by developing skills and playing around in the Sundre Aquaplex pool. This provides an excellent opportunity for paddlers to fine-tune their skills in warm water so they are ready to hit the river in the spring!
